National Special Needs Team Safety Roadeo
Event: Saturday, March 8, 2008
North Little Rock School, North Little Rock, Arkansas
The National Special Needs Team Safety Roadeo
is managed and administered by Edupro Group and
the National Association for Pupil Transportation
and is hosted by the Conference.
Roadeo Participation
If
you are passionate about Special Needs Transportation, want to
grow as a professional, and would like to network with others
who do what you do from across the nation, then form a team and
plan to participate in this event. The Roadeo consists of Driver-Attendant
Teams.
Top performers will be recognized, but everyone will be a winner
in this competition. We think winning is walking away with greater
knowledge and understanding of Special Needs Transportation. Competence
is important, but increased competence is our goal. Don't let anxiety
about how good you are now stop you from signing up. A desire to
do your best and become better is most important.
In the Roadeo, you will be judged in driving and backing a bus;
loading, unloading and securing students in wheelchairs; and evacuating
a special needs bus. During the skills events, teams must maintain
behavioral control of special students on the bus. There is a
written test that you and your teammate will complete before you
come to Orlando. You will receive information on all skill areas
prior to the Roadeo.
Roadeo
